WE WOULD REMIND ALL LOCAL AUTHORITIES, AS WE DO TIME & TIME AGAIN .

WE WOULD REMIND ALL INVOLVED WITH SCHOOL PUPILS, OR IN FACT ANY ONE INVOLVED IN THE LAW MAKING PROCESS

WE WOULD REMIND ALL DRIVERS

WE WOULD REMIND ALL SCHOOLS

THE SAFETY OF SCHOOL PUPILS IS ESSENTIAL, MOST OF THEM HAVE PARENTS, WE URGE THESE PARENTS WHO DRIVE TO REMEMBER, IF IT’S A SCHOOL BUS , CHILDREN WILL BE OFFLOADING.
PLEASE  REMEMBER ONE THING

Children are not small adults,
They don't have the skills to handle traffic related environments, no matter what you teach them.
It has to be constantly brought before them.

A child versus a car is an unfair fight that the child always loses. Children rely on adults for safety
Yes this is your child we are speaking about

PLEASE SHOW THE SAME RESPECT  TO THE SCHOOL BUS IN FRONT OF YOU, AS YOU WOULD HOPE OTHER DRIVERS GIVE TO YOUR CHILDS SCHOOL BUS

PLEASE DRIVE WITH CARE, EVEN PASSING A BUS AT 20 MPH OR SLOWER COULD SAVE A LIFE, PASSING AT 30 MPH COULD LOSE ONE.

STOPPING TO ALLOW PUPILS TO CROSS THE ROAD WILL ENSURE THERE IS NO ACCIDENT
We thank all drivers who do

Parents try to understand where ever you are going to drop your child off at school or pick them up from school ,or even as they leave the school bus is it
important enough to risk injuring or killing a child to get there in a hurry?

We in fact have recently mailed most local authorities, pointing out the changes they can make regarding school pupil safety on a bus.

We have also mailed some LAs whose bus services are not run by them but by organisations who run it on their behalf, to be honest the service is not good & the answers are incorrect.

Not good enough & not what you would expect, all we are trying to do is ensure your pupils are properly protected & the LAs you represent are aware of all they can do to improve safety

Most replies are positive, some are very blunt & to the point, & in fact SOME don’t want to answer.

..........................
WE WOULD ALSO LIKE THANK SPANGLEFISH WHO HELPED US IN SO MANY WAYS.

GARVE, WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT THIS SITE
THANK YOU.

School children also travel on SERVICE buses, NOT only school buses, so why not extend the showing of children on board signs to all buses on the road, and make it law that no-one can pass a stationary bus whilst they are dropping or picking up passengers, just as they have in place in america?

Comment from Ron Beaty school bus safety group at 20:18 on 16 August 2010.
Some local authorities do ensure this happens. The problem is a Government one at Westminster, we have & are trying to ensure this is continually being brougth forward.
The problem is the law between service buses [ that also carry school children ] & school buses is not the same, nor are school pupils given the same protection.
Hopefully some things are changing in some local authorities.

We are as campagning for many ideas to come to the fore, as you will see if you read the full site.
From all school buses being fitted with flashing lights as pupils load & unload to larger more effective safety signs , which are in fact a disgrace as they stand, why should adverts be larger than a warning sign!!.

As i said sadly, flashing lights will never be fitted to sevice buses used as school buses due to the current law.
The no passing law law has been vetoed by the Dept of Transport, the same body that should be ensuring school bus safety.
Which as we point out on a regular basis, ensure some pupils travel to school safer than others, which of course cannot be right!

Of course the removal of the safety sign when not carrying pupils would be a great help, again in the meantime the Dept of Transport will not progress this through Westminster, but things are changing slowly, & they will change.
